Library with integrated Art Deco door
This project was a successful collaboration with Jonathan Rochart (concept and design) and Tofwood (realisation)
Our Brief
To optimise wasted space between two adjoining rooms, while respecting the home’s Art Deco style.
The Result
Having listened and understood what our customer really wanted, by proposing different possibilities, we produced the following:
A custom wall library integrating an Art Deco door with sliding mechanism to optimise space between the two rooms
Door made with 2 different woods, meranti for the frame styles and rules and beech for the door panel. The door frame was constructed using traditionally crafted tenon-and-hole joints
Hammered glass was integrated in the door to allow light to come through while maintaining some privacy
Aesthetics respecting the Art Deco decoration style of the customer’s home
