Hanging desk and modular cabinet

Our Brief

For this exciting project, we needed to build two pieces on each side of an open-fire chimney with a hanging desk on one side and a hanging cabinet on the other side. Additionally, shelves with hidden mounts were to be included on both sides on the walls.

The Result

  • To keep the harmony in the room with the current wooden floor colour, we proposed to create the ensemble with walnut wood, and to oil it to give it a warmer tone.

  • The floating desk was constructed with a 40 mm worktop and angled rounded on the front for comfort whilst working  but also to make it look more aesthetically harmonised

  • Removable closings were integrated in the worktop to pass the cabling of the computer equipment

  • A hidden cable tray was integrated behind the 3 drawers, including a removable front to nicely cover all cables underneath the desk

  • A modular cabinet including a module with push-to-open door, 2 soft closing drawers and a vintage “apero” cabinet with 90 degrees horizontally opening door allowing to put glasses and bottle whilst serving drinks

  • Floating 35 mm shelves with integrated metal structure enabling to mount these invisibly between the walls, 45 degrees rounded angles on the front make the shelves look more contemporary.
